The actor Daniel Radcliffe and his long-term companion Erin Darke are first-time parents. The Harry Potter actor’s publicist verified the birth of their child after the Daily Mail published photographs of them pushing a stroller in New York.
It was reported in March that the couple was expecting a child.
After reportedly meeting in 2013 on the set of the film Kill Your Darlings, the couple has been together for a decade.
They have not disclosed the gender or birth date of the infant.
In 2001, Daniel Radcliffe was cast as the spectacled child wizard in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone at the age of 12.
He subsequently appeared in all eight films based on J.K. Rowling’s novels.
He was nominated for a Bafta for his performance in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, for which he portrayed the lead role.
The film chronicles the life and career of Weird Al Yankovic, a comedian whose parodies of classic songs brought him renown.
Last year, he expressed his desire for his children to pursue careers in the film industry’s technical departments.
“If and when I have children, I would love for them to be around film sets,” he said.
“Their dream would be to walk onto a film production and say, ‘God, you know, I’d love to be in the art department. I would adore to be a member of the crew.”
Darke, who was born in Michigan, is best known for her role in the 2015 series Good Girl Revolt. Most recently, she appeared in the Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Rupert Grint, who portrayed Ronald Weasley in the Harry Potter films, has a two-year-old daughter named Wednesday with actress Georgia Groome.
