Danilo Bartulin is a politician and doctor from Chile. He was close to Salvador Allende and worked with him. It is hardly a mystery why former Chilean president Allende died during the Augusto Pinochet-led military revolution in 1973.
When the army and air force attacked the La Moneda presidential mansion, Allende was there with Bartulin. Both the explosion and the gunshots were avoided by the doctor.
Allende made the decision to stay in the palace until he passed away in front of Danilo during his farewell speech to the country. Additionally, he was present when Allende allegedly killed himself.

Danilo Bartulin was born in Chile. He received his medical degree from the University of Chile and went on to specialize in neurology and psychiatry.
The talented doctor joined the Chilean Socialist Party and became close to Salvador Allende, who served as the alliance’s head and won the 1970 presidential election by leading the Popular Unity coalition to victory.
After being named head of the National Health Service, Bartulin worked to put Allende’s social and health goals into practice.
He traveled with Allende on all of his overseas trips, including his visit to Cuba in 1972.

Allende made the decision to stay in the palace until he passed away while the doctor was present for his farewell speech to the country.
In addition, he saw the body of Allende, who is said to have killed himself with a pistol that Fidel Castro had handed him.
Bartulin was captured and mistreated by the authorities despite surviving the explosion and gunshots.
He reportedly was moved to a number of prisons, including the National Stadium, where he made an effort to aid other sick or injured prisoners.
He was afterward banished to Spain, where he protested the abuses of human rights committed by the Pinochet administration.
He was a psychiatrist and neurologist who focused on the treatment of people with brain injuries. The Spanish Neurorehabilitation Society was established by him.
He wrote several books and essays about his experiences in Chile and his training as a doctor. He furthermore took part in interviews and films on Allende’s life.
We were unable to discover reliable sources, therefore we are unsure about the doctor’s current state of health. A story from 2006 said that he lived in exile.
Victor Jara was a well-known political activist and singer-songwriter from Chile who was put to death in 1973 by Augusto Pinochet’s military regime.
Bartulin and Jara were both detained, taken to Estadio Chile, tortured, and kept apart from the other prisoners.
Together, they passed their dying moments in solitude and terror. During Victor Jara’s dying days, Danilo was there.
The singer was reportedly ridiculed by the tormentors for trying to sing and play his music. Despite being tortured, Victor Jara sang a piece of the Popular Unity party’s song.
He took a series of brutal blows before being shot dead with a machine gun.
His body and those of five other people were found outside the Metropolitan Cemetery in the early hours of September 16.
