Partner Danny Zayat, 28, is charged with offenses including domestic violence. A Sydney judge granted bail to a man suspected of intensifying domestic violence against his estranged girlfriend, who is a suspect in her death.
The judge said the court was not handling a murder case and that it was the “elephant in the room.”
After allegedly perpetrating 22 acts of domestic abuse against Tatiana Dokhotaru over the course of two years, concrete worker Danny Zayat is accused of murdering the 34-year-old woman in her Liverpool flat in May.
Zayat is not being held accountable for her demise. The man’s family is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend before she was found dead, but they angrily reject questions about their connection while the presumed victim’s parents condemn the police.

The brother of a guy charged with more than a dozen domestic violence-related felonies lost control when his ex-girlfriend’s body was found. He insulted and threatened a reporter for the Daily Mail Australia.
More information about his family hasn’t been made public since, in certain delicate situations, such information is kept secret to protect the family’s security.
Tatiana “Tania” Dokhotaru, 34, was found dead inside her Liverpool flat in Sydney’s southwest at around 8 p.m. on Saturday, over 24 hours after she had phoned triple-0 screaming for help and lamenting that her boyfriend was “bashing” her.
Her distressed parents, Olga Dokhotaru and Dennis Thievin have blamed the police for their slow reaction, claiming that she may still be alive if they had shown up at her apartment the night she called for help.
Danny Zayat, Ms. Dokhotaru’s former boyfriend, was apprehended on the scene on Saturday and has since been charged with a number of charges, including choking and breaking an AVO, that allegedly occurred in the days leading up to her death.
He was turned down for bail in court on Monday, and it’s thought that the child he and Ms. Dokhotaru shared, who turned four only hours after his mother’s corpse was found, is now in Zayat’s parents’ care.
Is He Involved In the Death of Tatiana Dokhotaru Case?
Before Tatiana Dokhotaru’s body was found on May 27, 2023, in her Liverpool flat, Danny Zayat, 28, was charged with 18 counts of domestic abuse against her.
He has not been placed on trial for the death of Dokhotaru. When he appeared at Liverpool Local Court on Friday, his plea for bail was turned down, and the prosecution suggested that more serious offenses would be brought.
Zayat was accompanied in court by members of his family, including his mother, relatives, and neighbors who grieved as he appeared via video connection from jail.
Dokhotaru’s friend Tendayi Chivunga, who had been crying during the bail hearing while Zayat’s relatives shouted and argued among themselves, was pushed by them as she exited the court.
The woman informed the press waiting outside that “Danny’s family were calling me horrible names as I walked out of the court distraught and crying.”
Chivunga said she was imprisoned in a judicial interview room after bail was denied while Zayat’s family allegedly went “wild” outside the door before being escorted away by sheriffs.
