Scottish singer-songwriter Darius Campbell-Danesh passed away on August 11 at the age of 41. At his Rochester home, he was found to be unresponsive and unconscious.

His passing was announced in a formal statement from his family, which read:
“We regret to notify you of Darius Campbell Danesh’s passing.” In Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11, Darius was found unconscious in bed in his apartment. The local medical examiner’s office pronounced him dead in the afternoon.
Medical examinations to determine the cause of death were still being conducted, even though local police had ruled out foul play. Following his participation in the 2001 season of the British talent show Popstars, Darius Campbell-Danesh gained notoriety.
He rejected down a record deal from Simon Cowell when he made it to the finals of another similar competition called Pop Idol a year later in favor of working with record producer Steve Lillywhite.

Darius Campbell-Danesh: Who Is He? In 1990, Campbell-Danesh made his professional acting debut in The Trojans, playing a non-singing role.
He also performed at Covent Garden’s Royal Opera House. His debut single, Colourblind, was published in July 2002 after he participated, in reality, music talent shows like Popstars and Pop Idol. He released his debut album, Dive In, in 2004.
He produced one of the songs on this album, Better Than That, in addition to writing all of the songs on it. His book Sink or Swim was later made public.
The book about the various aspects of the music industry was the sixth best-seller in the Sunday Times. On the charity CD for the War Child organization, Darius also worked with Coldplay and Oasis. When his second album, Live Twice, was released in October 2004, the song with the same name quickly rose to the top of the charts.
He replaced Billy Flynn on Broadway in the role of Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls at the age of 25. He portrayed Rhett Butler in the musical adaptation of Gone with the Wind directed by Sir Trevor Nunn in 2008. 2010’s Popstar to Operastar talent contest saw Darius emerge victorious.
He made his operatic debut with Carmen in the same year and also appeared on The History of the Big Bands tour. In July 2013, he was chosen to play the main role in the musical From Here to Eternity. Two years later, in 2015, he performed in Funny Girl at the Savoy Theatre.
