Dave Hollis, a self-help author and former Disney distribution executive, died at the age of 47. Because Hollis, who was last seen the previous evening, was “young and didn’t have an extensive medical history,” Cable said an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death. Hollis’ ex-wife, best-selling novelist Rachel Hollis, said the family was “devastated.”
“I have no words; my heart is too broken to find them,” she replied.
Although Hollis had recently been hospitalized for “heart problems,” his cause of death has not yet been determined, according to a family spokesperson. He died quietly on Saturday night at his home outside of Austin, Texas. His ex-wife Rachel Hollis requested prayers as she and their children dealt with the unthinkable.
Hollis spent 17 years at Disney before leaving in 2018 to work alongside his ex-wife, seven of those as the Company’s chief of distribution.
