CNN claims that David DePape barged into Paul Pelosi’s San Francisco home at two in the morning and then struck him with a hammer. Fox News reports that police detained the man on multiple charges, including burglary and attempted murder when they arrived very swiftly.
“The suspect took hold of Mr. Pelosi’s hammer and attacked him viciously.” Our police quickly apprehended the offender, disarmed him, took him into custody, called for reinforcements, and provided first aid.
Paul Pelosi dialed 911 as the suspect turned away, activating the San Francisco Police Department. According to authorities, the FBI and Capitol Police are currently looking into the crime. The attack’s motivation is currently unknown to the suspect.

According to the Associated Press, David DePape was raised in Canada until he was 14 years old. He was born and raised in Powell River, British Columbia, and is said to have moved to San Francisco when he was 22 years old to chase an older woman. He then purportedly settled in Berkeley, a college town. David’s stepfather, Gene DePape, was shocked to learn of the suspect’s accusations.
Despite being fairly reclusive and playing too many video games, David was never hostile which I witnessed, and was never in trouble.
In a 2013 San Francisco Chronicle article, DePape was described as a hemp jewelry maker who shared a residence with a nudist campaigner.
His online history, according to Today News, exhibited both far-right extremist and liberal anti-establishment ideologies, with many of his posts diving into conspiracy theories regarding communism, vaccinations, and extraterrestrials. Linda Schneider, a Californian woman, claims that DePape shared his ideas with her over a series of emails.
“David DePape was a megalomaniac who was cut off from reality,” one person said.
“I stopped talking to him because it felt so hazardous,” she said.
“He was peculiar. He failed to maintain eye contact. David DePape has angelic communication, and a challenging time is coming.

Police in San Francisco thinks Nancy Pelosi, 82, was DePape’s intended victim even though they have not yet determined the reason for the alleged assault on Paul Pelosi. DePape responded to the police report when officials arrived at the scene by saying:
At a formal press conference, Nancy Pelosi announced her intention to charge the suspect. Paul Pelosi had treatment for a broken head and injuries to his right arm and hands, as reported by the BBC, as a result of the incident.
