When David discovered Beryl having an affair with his closest friend in his swimming pool 15 years later, in 1972, the couple decided to get a divorce. It took place the same day that David discovered his Father stealing his shares.

According to the 2019 Sunday Times Rich List, Jacqueline was ranked as the 16th richest woman in Great Britain, with a net worth of £470 million.

She established the Summers empire in 1981 by establishing risqué House parties, where women congregated to discuss female items.

Jacqueline played the lead role in episode 2 of The House I Grew Up In on BBC Radio 4 in August 2007.

She spoke about her difficult childhood throughout the series. David cried when she was born because he desired a son, and when she was 12 her parents divorced.

David Gold was reared in East London, close to West Ham’s Boleyn Ground, after being born in Stepney. He was Rose Gold’s and Godfrey Gold’s son.

Godfrey, often known as Goldy in the neighborhood, was David’s father and an East End crook who served time in prison when David was a young boy.

David played youth football with West Ham, where he was allowed to sign documents as an apprentice professional for the first team. His father was asked to countersign the documents, but he declined.

David Gold and his family were valued at £460 million according to the Sunday Times Rich List in 2020, making him a perfect example of a person who overcame adversity to become wealthy.
