In 1994 and 1998, renowned Christian author and preacher Dr. David Jeremiah received a lymphoma diagnosis.
He was initially diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1994 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
The clinic had him come back to this La Jolla community hospital to take care of me.
I met oncologist Dr. Alan Saven that first day as he was heading to the clinic; he has been my twice-yearly examiner for many years.
One kind of cancer that affects the immune system’s lymphatic system is called lymphoma.
There was a bulge or mass in the Christian author’s neck. It was extracted surgically.
As stated in an interview, the pastor’s recovery from the illness and return to normalcy was eventually brought about by Dr. Saven and Dr. Charles Mason, who oversaw the stem cell transplant.
In 1999, the pastor underwent stem cell therapy. Thankfully, he made it through the hazardous situation and recovered completely.

In 2020, Dr. Jeremiah and Dr. James Dobson had a podcast were he related his experience with cancer and found solace.

Dr. Jeremiah was traveling to the Caribbean for a seminar when he fell in January 2024.
At the time, he believed he had fully healed, but later on, surgery was necessary to address some residual consequences of his injury.
In order for the pastor to completely return to his busy schedule, doctors advised him to take the remainder of April off and to postpone any vacation plans.
He was only going to preach at his own church on Easter; he was going to wait to travel until May.
Dr. Jeremiah canceled all of his April engagements, including “Singing in the Sun” in Myrtle Beach.
Abraham Productions wished Dr. Jeremiah a full recovery and expressed disappointment that he was unable to attend “Singing in the Sun.”
During his scheduled hours at “Singing in the Sun,” Dr. Ralph Sexton delivered the sermon in lieu of Dr. Jeremiah.
Dr. Ralph Sexton gave insightful commentary on the prophetic text. He had just returned from working with refugees in Israel, Poland, and the border region of Ukraine.
There has been no update on Dr. David’s health as of this writing. I hope the pastor is well and has fully recovered.
