Warren Haynes, a singer, and songwriter paid tribute to Lindley by posting a photo of her playing a musical instrument on Facebook. Lindley, he said, was a true artist with a distinct sound on the instrument he chose to perform on. Lindley, according to Haynes, had a significant impact on him. According to Haynes:

“I’ve always considered David to be one of the most significant influences on my slide playing, particularly on the rhythmic side. When I’m working on a song or performance in a major key, Lindley’s influence often comes to mind. His vocal technique was vocalesque, and his sense of rhythm was exceptional.”

According to Haynes, Lindley’s collaboration with Jackson Browne became popular in the 1970s, and the passages were so well-known that even non-musicians could “echo along.” Bassist Leland Sklar also expressed his sorrow on Facebook, writing:

“We have lost one of history’s most genuinely unique and exceptional musicians and companions!” David Lindley was the only one who resembled him. My heart, earth, and rhythm are always with me. My thoughts are with you and your lovely family right now. “I will miss you, my sibling.”

Over the years, David Lindley has built a reputation as a flawless performer. When word of his death spread, Twitter was flooded with condolences:

David Lindley was best known for his collaborations with Jackson Browne

David Lindley, born on March 21, 1944, began playing the violin and ukulele at a young age and developed an interest in music in the 1960s. As a result of this, Kaleidoscope was formed in 1966, and the ensemble released six albums. David worked with several other bands after Kaleidoscope disbanded in the 1970s before forming El Rayo-X in 1981.

The group, however, disbanded in 1989. He worked on albums by Warren Zevon, Curtis Mayfield, James Taylor, Terry Reid, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, and others on a regular basis.

Lindley was well-known for his collaboration with Jackson Browne, and he contributed to most of Browne’s efforts, including Browne’s rendition of Maurice Williams’ Remain. David had a large collection of instruments, but he once admitted that he had no idea which ones he could play. In 1976, Lindley married Chris Darrow’s sister Joan Darrow, and the couple had a daughter, Rosanne.
