Russell Neal alerted the overseeing deputy at a Harris County Sheriff’s Department headquarters on July 2, 2014, that his wife need medical assistance. He said that they had an argument but stopped there. Instead, he sought legal counsel. The Police broke into the couple’s Houston residence in response to his accusations and found Catherine’s dead.
Russell was a member of the Texas-based R&B quintet Hi-Five, a vocal group from the 1990s. The platinum-selling singer allegedly relied on his partner’s money and had long since lost his notoriety, according to Catherine’s relatives. They said that the singer of I Like the Way allegedly paid $40 to watch his kids.
Where was Russell Neal born? Ethnicity, Nationality, Family, Education
Mary Figueroa gave birth to Catherine “Brasilia” Martinez in Chicago on January 15, 1990. She had a sizable fan base and a big online presence on her YouTube and Instagram pages. Catherine wanted to be a fitness model and a boxer. In her professional accounts, the late fitness model went by the name Brasilia Martinez.
Her mother referred to her as “my Bonita,” which is Spanish for “beautiful,” in recognition of her daughter’s attractiveness and angular features. Russell Neal, then 39, and Catherine Neal resided together in a house at 3766 Tanglewilde in the Cedar Creek neighborhood of southwest Houston.
Catherine and Russell have two sons: Raphael (born in 2011) and Diego (born in 2009), despite her family’s admission that they weren’t officially married. The 24-year-old model’s neighbors claimed that they frequently observed the couple in and around the complex and that they appeared to be happy together.
Quincy Toler, a neighbor, claimed that although Catherine didn’t talk much, she adored her children. She maintained them spotless, top-notch, and welcoming. The entire neighborhood was stunned when Martinez’s lifeless corpse was found by police under a blanket in the living room.
What’s become of Russell Neal?
In connection with Catherine Martinez’s passing, her husband was detained and charged with first-degree murder. He was granted parole on a $100,000 bond while awaiting trial. However, in May 2015, U.S. Marshal’s Service officials arrested him when a Harris County warrant was issued on suspicion that he had missed a court appearance.
He reportedly showed signs of suicidal thinking. While there, he also started acting bizarrely and claimed to be “Jesus Christ.” According to the prosecution, Russell was “acting insane” in order to avoid his murder trial.
However, following several consecutive competency hearings when Russell was declared mentally unable to stand trial, the court mandated that he undergo counseling. Since that time, Russell, who is now in his late 40s as of 2023, has remained a patient in Rusk State Hospital in Texas, a psychiatric hospital. Justice is the final thing this earth can give Catherine Martinez. She hasn’t yet gotten it, though.
