The presenter immediately labeled the message “dumb,” mocking the notion that fifth graders can make the world a better place:
“What a stupid message. Furthermore, it is incorrect. “What has a fifth-grader done to make the world a better place because he or she lives in it?”

Dennis Prager: Everything You Need to Know
Dennis Prager was born on August 2, 1948, in New York, to Max and Hilda Prager. He was raised in a modern orthodox Jewish family and attended the Jewish day school Yeshiva of Flatbush. He went to Brooklyn College after graduation and majored in History and Middle Eastern Studies. Prager briefly attended Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and the University of Leeds before deciding to discontinue his studies.
In addition, Pepperdine University bestowed upon him an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. Prager’s professional career began in 1969 when he was hired to interview Soviet Jews in the Soviet Union while studying in England. He was recruited by the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry organization after his return and quickly became the team’s spokesman. Prager was also named director of the Brandeis-Bardin Institute in 1976.
In 1982, the Brooklyn native was hired to host Religion on the Line, a Sunday night religious discussion program on commercial radio station KABC in Los Angeles. In addition, he began publishing Ultimate Issues, a quarterly magazine, in 1985, which grew into The Prager Perspective, a bi-weekly journal, in 1995
. Aside from that, he taught the Bible at the University of Judaism and lectured to Jewish communities around the world more than 50 times per year. The media celebrity was also a successful writer. In 1975, he co-wrote and published The Nine Questions People Ask About Judaism with Joseph Telushkin. He went on to write several other books over the years, including Think a Second Time in 1996.
In addition to his nine published books, Dennis Prager’s work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, and Commentary. The majority of his pieces are managed by Creators Syndicate and appear on websites such as National Review Online and Jewish World Review, among others. Prager also contributes biweekly to The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles.
According to his official website, he has conducted numerous symphony orchestras, most notably at prestigious venues such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The media figure has created a website called PragerU with his producer Allen Estrin. The website produces five-minute films on political, economic, and social issues from a conservative perspective.
Prager has won several awards throughout his career, including the American Jewish Press Association’s Excellence in Commentary Award and the Amy Foundation First Prize for his Moment Magazine essays. Between 1981 and 1986, Dennis Prager was married to Janice Adelstein, a nurse. They also had a son together. In 1988, he married Francine Stone for the second time; however, the couple divorced in 2005. His current wife is Susan Reed.
