Thompkins spent four seasons with the Utah Aggies, completing 40 passes for 536 yards and four TDs. In addition, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on May 1, 2022. Despite joining Bay’s practice squad in 2022, he was promoted to the regular roster in December. He plays wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Deven Thompkins Wife: Who Are His Children?

Deven Thompkins is Maria Castilhos’ loyal spouse. The couple’s first child, Nyomi Thompkins, was born in July 2018, shortly before Thompkins began his college career. Similarly, the couple had their second child, Messiah Thompkins, in September 2019. Thompkins sees much of himself in his oldest child, Nyomi, who is just five years old, and affectionately refers to her as his wild child.

Thompkins sees his four-year-old son, Messiah, as a fierce warrior, and his angel baby as a miracle. Messiah, who has Down syndrome, faces challenges, but Thompkins insists he will not give up.

Deven’s Inspiring Life as a Student, Father, and Broad Receiver

Deven, the wide receiver who handled everything well, struggled to maintain his academic standing while caring for his child. Thompkins’ family lived together until the summer of his junior year when Maria moved both children back to Florida for a brief stay. When Deven needed to care for Nyomi during their summer stay, he would bring her to his university, where his teachers would hold her for him during lectures.

Maria moved to California to pursue medicine, while Nyomi stayed with her and Messiah lived with his father. Thompkins balanced parenthood, football, and a full-time academic schedule despite only getting a tuition stipend. When he could take all of his classes online, he could stay at home for part of the day and babysit his child.

Furthermore, his teammates, particularly former Jefferson High receiver Justin McGriff, alternated babysitting him daily. According to Cefalo, Messiah would doze off or drink a bottle in the back of the room with his father during multiple sessions. Remembering all of the times, Thompkins wants to be more than just the best football player he can be; he also wants to be the best parent he can be to his children.
