Tomi Arayomi, an apostle of the Restoring Isaachers Generation (RIG), and his wife, prophet Tahmar Arayomi, are said to have been detained upon their arrival at the Abuja airport. According to Persecondnews, Emmanuel was apprehended alongside the other two. The group arrived at 10:20 a.m. for travel to the Federal Capital Territory set to begin at 5:00 p.m. (April 7).
Although the reason for their detention was not immediately clear, sources said they were hauled away and their phones were confiscated when they arrived. Although the reason for their incarceration is unknown, many feel it has nothing to do with a prophecy he made years before the 2023 general election that many believe would have upset the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC.
The DSS has yet to publish a statement confirming or rejecting the arrest or explaining why it was made. Tobi Arayomi, his twin brother, posted about it on his Instagram page @tobiarayomi about lunchtime. Tobi claims that agents from the Department of State Services detained him because of allegedly political forecasts made by his brother.
After around 40 minutes, he posted a photo of his brother and wife on Instagram to mark their release. According to his official Facebook profile, Pastor Tomi was scheduled to attend a program on April 7 at his church’s Abuja location.
