Doug Wabeke of Grand Haven, Michigan, died away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, according to an online obituary. However, the reason of his death was not immediately made public.
Doug was an assistant hitting coach at Davenport University. Wabeke, a graduate of Central Michigan University, was an All-American during his two seasons as a player at GRCC.
He earned an All-Academic selection throughout his two seasons of play at Central Michigan.
From 1980 to 1984, Wabeke played professionally with the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Francisco Giants.
