The president of the Prosper Independent School District, Dew Wilborn, was detained for having sex with a minor. The Prosper ISD board president was taken into custody on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in the afternoon, according to jail records. Dallas Police got information on an incident involving a child and the head of the school board on April 12, 2022. Police acquired an arrest warrant for the 43-year-old after conducting an investigation. At his residence in Celina, Texas, he was captured.
On suspicion of having inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old child, Wilborn was detained and booked into the Dallas County Jail. As of Wednesday, neither the existence of bail nor the existence of legal representation for the Prosper ISD president were known. No Prosper students were involved in the incident, according to a statement from the Prosper Independent School District.
Any inquiries concerning the situation were also forwarded by the Prosper ISD to the Dallas Police Department. In 2022, Wilborn oversaw a number of contentious meetings with parents who questioned how Prosper ISD handled allegations of sexual assault against a bus driver. The Prosper Independent School District’s board of trustees is led by Drew Wilborn. The 43-year-old, who was just elected board president, ran a vigorous campaign and will start his three-year term in 2021. Wilborn earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Control Systems from the University of North Texas in 2002.
From Dallas Baptist University, he earned his MA in Christian Education in 2014. The current ISD board of trustees president moved to Prosper in June 2017 with his wife and family. Drew formerly worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas as a financial analyst and accounting supervisor. For more than 16 years, the devout Christian, age 43, has served as pastor and chief financial officer at Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.
