Ed began his career as a musician rather than an actor, with his first extended play (EP) released in 2004 on the Dented Records record label, and his first album, “The Eat Up,” released in 2007, featuring numerous popular rap artists such as Foreign Beggars, Asian Dub Foundation, Plan B, and Doc Brown, among others. His following EP, “Pre-Emptive Nostalgia,” was a collaboration with the music group “A State of Mind.” His most recent album, “Scene Stealers,” was published in 2009 in partnership with the rapper Dr. Syntax.
Following that, Ed pursued his acting career. His debut appearance was in the short film “Michelle,” after which he received his first significant role in the 2012 feature “III Manors.” Ed went on to play Daario Naharis in the third season of the popular TV series “Game of Thrones” (GoT)– although he was replaced in the fourth season, the GoT series made him somewhat popular and opened many avenues for him. He landed the major part in “The Transporter: Refueled,” replacing prominent actor Jason Statham, and he also appears as Ajax, the main bad guy, in the popular “Deadpool” film.
Ed made his directorial debut on October 23, 2015, with the science-fiction thriller “Gateway 6.” He has also acted in the psychological thriller film “Darkness,” and he was slated to star in the new “Hellboy” film, but he declined the job.
