In a recent startling interview with Rolling Stone, Greyson Chance, a former protégé of Ellen DeGeneres, revealed the truth about his time spent with the well-known talk show presenter.
He referred to DeGeneres as “manipulative,” “self-centered,” and “blatantly opportunistic” as he promoted his brand-new album Palladium. When Ellen DeGeneres first came across Greyson Chance, he was only 12 years old.
The teen’s cover of Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi has just gone viral. The talk show host immediately chartered a flight to take the youngster from Oklahoma to Los Angeles, where he told the boy’s mother, Lisa, that they would “do this together.” The teen signed with eleveneleven, DeGeneres’ music label, for the first time in May 2010.
When Greyson Chance, the talk show host, released his own mini EP in October 2010, it was claimed that he “became dominant and far too controlling.” He went on:
“One text message from her might completely change the course of my week, month, and year.” That was horrible.
The singer added that he had been given the opportunity to perform as Miranda Cosgrove’s opening act at the time. He was forced to watch Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never documentary by Ellen DeGeneres. Greyson Chance claimed that the TV celebrity persuaded him to imitate Justin Bieber. DeGeneres attacked Chance’s mother, Lisa, because Chance was too exhausted to watch the show while on tour.

The Texas native’s voice and songwriting prowess are well known. He was recording with Interscope Records in addition to signing with eleveneleven. His debut single, Waiting Outside the Lines, was made available in 2010.

Given that DeGeneres has already been criticized by former coworkers for creating a hostile work atmosphere in two Buzzfeed exposés, Greyson Chance’s accusations are not shocking.
