The older of the two Deschanel siblings is Emily. Her birthday is October 11, 1976. The youngest sister, Zooey, came on January 17, 1980, four years later.
Their parents are well-known figures in Hollywood; their mother, Mary Jo Deschanel (née Weir), is an actress, while their father, Caleb Deschanel, is a cinematographer and filmmaker.
The Ethnicity and Heritage of the Deschanel Sisters
Zooey and Emily are of very distinct racial origins. Paul Jules Deschanel, their paternal grandpa, was a native of Oullins, Rhône, France. The sisters’ French ancestry was passed down to them when he immigrated to the United States in 1930 and began a family there.
Apart from that, the sisters have some Pennsylvanian Quaker heritage through her paternal grandmother, Anna Ward Orr. Due to their maternal side of the family, they also have Deep Ohio, New York, and Irish, Swiss, English, and Dutch ancestry.

Zooey and Emily have different career goals.
While Emily had different intentions, Zooey immediately began performing. She had always wanted to go into academia and pursue the arts.
