The body of Samuel Michael Clemons, a native of Jefferson City, was discovered last week in a fire pit in north Columbia.
The Columbia, South Carolina, police recently detained 20-year-old Emma Adams in connection with the case of Michael Clemons.
Adams has pled not guilty to second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abandoning a body on January 13 and has neglected to show up in court since the incident.

People were horrified when the police identified the victim as Samuel Michael Clemons. He was a former Jefferson City resident who was a 21-year-old student at MU.
Police began an inquiry when he wasn’t in his university vehicle and discovered that he had taken an Uber to his house, which is five miles from the university.

When Adams was called to appear in court, she refused, prompting police to make an arrest and charge Adams with second-degree murder.
She has been detained since her arrest on Wednesday and is now the subject of a police investigation; she might get up to 20 years in prison.
