Emma Appleton- Professional Career
Emma began her modeling career at the age of 16 as a hairdo model. According to her, she was once invited to perform hair modeling, which she enjoyed so much that she decided to apply to local model agencies, and one of them responded ‘Yes’ – it was a start. Emma has worked with brands and corporations such as Goldwell, Rimmel, and Fred Perry, as well as Converse, Office Shoes, and Toni & Guy. Emma was also mentioned in two significant articles in magazines such as Huf and Spindle.
She believes she genuinely enjoys the modeling process because it forces her out of her comfort zone every day, despite the fact that Emma is a ‘home bud.’ She, on the other hand, sees no other way to grow as a person. She also stated that while some shoots may appear strange from the outside, she finds them thrilling and dynamic. For example, she once stated that she was required to pose under a large shower with very loud music playing on the set, and she was instructed to dance ‘like crazy.’ Emma gladly completed all of the chores because ‘normal is boring for her.
Emma previously grumbled that she couldn’t plan anything because of her hectic schedule: ‘I don’t know my schedule for the next day until 5 p.m. ‘You can’t be a huge planner with this work anyway,’ she explained in a 2015 interview with Kaltblut. Her workload, however, has only increased over the years since she has now become an actress.
As an actor
Emma once stated in an interview that she believed modeling to be very similar to acting since, in the end, it’s all about ’embodying a character.’ So, when the opportunity arose, she seized it and made her debut in her first short film “Dreamlands” in 2016, playing the character of a pixie. The following year, 2017, provided her another chance to perform in a short film, thus she played Elena in “The Nun.” Emma first appeared as Kelly in an episode of “The End of the F***ing World,” then as Sally in an episode of “Grantchester,” and finally as Fay Brookstone in “Clique,” where she starred in six episodes.
Emma played Germaine in the TV drama series “Genius,” and she appeared in the episodes “Picasso: Chapter Two” and “Picasso: Chapter Three.” Emma rose to prominence in 2019 when she was cast in a major role in the “Traitors” series, portraying Fiona “Feef” Symonds, the newly-hired agent of OSS (Office of Strategic Services), alongside Keeley Hawes, Luke Treadaway, and Michael Stuhlbarg, and the same year she played Zoe in the short film “The Drink.”
Renfri from “The Witcher”
The first episode of the new Netflix series “The Witcher” premiered internationally on December 20, 2019, with Emma as Renfri, the princess of Creyden.
The episode was titled “The End’s Beginning,” and it told the narrative of Renfri and her company, who were being pursued by Stregobor, a sorcerer who specializes in illusions, as well as medical research and mutations. Stregobor was certain Renfri was a mutant born during “the Curse of the Black Sun,” thus he was interested in killing her and doing an autopsy to explore the mutations she purportedly possessed in her bodily structure. Andrzej Sapkowski, the creator of the Witcher book series, created the character of Princess Renfri as a more harsh version of Snow White. According to the plot of Geralt of Rivia’s first book, Renfri became a road robber and traveled to Mahakam, the realm of dwarfs, to join the band of seven robbers, all of whom were gnomes.
Even though Renfri lived her life on the streets and not in the castles, she nevertheless wore princess-like panties made of batiste, which was a big source of laughs in the books but is not mentioned in the series.
