When Isaacs was 12 years old, he started drinking. His first intoxication was unpleasant; it occurred at a wedding while he was drinking with a 14-year-old friend.

His Wikipedia article states that they wed in 2001. But in 2014, he made a different case. Isaacs and Hewitt referred to each other as husband and wife even before they were legally married.
The actor claimed in a 2004 interview that they were not legally wed but went by the names husband and wife to avoid appearing odd to others. Nevertheless, he proposed, and she said yes. However, he was hired for a job that required him to reschedule every wedding they planned.
The couple’s two children are Lily (born in 2002) and Ruby (born in 2004). (born in 2005). In the same interview from 2004, Isaacs expressed his desire to start a family sooner. He believed that having a family was “by far” the most gratifying thing he had ever done and that becoming a parent had improved him.
