Authorities assert that Myers was wandering in the northbound lane of the highway at 5:50 in the morning while a van was traveling north. He was struck by the vehicle because the driver did not notice him.

Many of his friends and members of the comedy community as a whole took to social media after hearing the news of his passing to offer their condolences.
