Stand-up comedian and actor Erik Myers is most recognized for his appearances on television. He has appeared on Andrew Dice Clay Presents on Showtime.
In addition to performing stand-up comedy at clubs and theaters across the nation, he has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.”
Myers has also written, produced, and appeared in his own comic book series, as well as a number of comedy CDs and specials. Myers has acted in movies and television shows in addition to his comic career.

Florida native Erik Myers lost his life on Tuesday while traveling to Dallas to perform at Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub. The accident happened close to Amarillo.
The Comic’s Comic claimed that Myers was his route to Dallas for a weekend of stand-up performances at Hyena’s Comedy Club, one of which would be his well-known act in that city.
Authorities assert that Myers was strolling in the northbound lane of the highway around 5:50 in the morning while a van was traveling north. He was struck by the truck because the driver did not see him.
He was immediately pronounced dead. The accident is currently under investigation.
Many of his friends and members of the comedy community as a whole took to social media after hearing the news of his passing to offer their condolences.

His life narrative has received mixed reviews in the media, with many questioning his justifications and asking whether it is acceptable to abandon one’s children.
But he is by no means the only person to have run away from his family only to come back years later.
The youngest daughter, Kirsten Myers Ruggiano, told ABC that “I know a lot of [gay] people who would never do this and would never blame it on their homosexuality.” I don’t believe he is capable of loving anyone but himself.
