After meeting at an evangelical rally in October 1957, Ernestine married ‘Little Richard’ on July 11, 1959, in California. She was her husband’s only wife. Danny Jones Penniman, a boy, was adopted by them. Danny arrived with his new family when he was one year old. Richard and his son remained close because Jones was also one of his bodyguards.
Regrettably, the couple split in 1964. According to Harvin, the two had a peaceful marriage with normal sexual ties at first. As a result, Harvin assumed that it was her husband’s celebrity position that had made things tough for her. Richard would argue the marriage fell apart as a result of his being an inattentive husband and his sexuality. Similarly, they both terminated their partnership amicably, and they remained excellent friends after their divorce. And they both denied Richard’s claims that he was gay, with Richard claiming that they were unaware because he was such a pumper at the time. She later married Mcdonald Campbell in Santa Barbara, California, on March 23, 1975.
