A collegiate baseball Super Regional game was being covered when ESPN director Kyle Brown suddenly tragically. Brown knew he wanted to work for ESPN and in the sports world from the beginning.
In a 2003 piece published on Ohio State’s website, he asserted that he fell in love with the television broadcast of athletic events after visiting a neighbor who worked as an ESPN director.
He has been working for ESPN productions at multiple Ohio State games broadcast on the network since he was a freshman in high school.
On the Ohio State website from twenty years ago, Brown said, “When Dick Vitale came into town, I was his chauffeur for the day.”
When you see him on television, you may think, “This guy must drink Red Bull by the gallon,” yet off-camera, he’s one of the friendliest, most laid-back individuals you’ll ever meet.
The worst has been confirmed by ESPN: On Saturday, one of the company’s employees perished tragically and suddenly as a result of a medical condition.
Kyle Brown, an ESPN director who was 42 years old, went unexpectedly on Saturday after experiencing a medical emergency. He went to the Alabama vs. Wake Forest Super Regional game.
There will be a service for Kyle Brown Espn in front of his loved ones.
ESPN released a statement saying that adored director Kyle Brown “suffered a medical emergency on Saturday morning and tragically passed away at the NCAA Baseball Super Regional in Winston-Salem.”
Kyle was a beloved part of our production team and had spent 16 years working for ESPN.
Along with being very talented, he was a two-time Sports Emmy Award winner who covered a wide range of sports, including Monday Night Football and college football.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Brown family during this difficult time.
His Cause of Death Was Associated With a Medical Emergency
Before Saturday’s NCAA Tournament Super Regionals match between Wake Forest and Alabama, a longtime ESPN employee tragically and suddenly passed away.
ESPN reported on Sunday that longtime team member Kyle Brown passed away before the game on Saturday.
According to a statement from ESPN PR on Sunday,
“NCAA Baseball coverage across ESPN, ESPN2 & ESPNU began at noon today with this tribute to Kyle Brown.”
Brown has received several tributes throughout the morning.
Just before Saturday morning’s Super Regional game between No. 1 Wake Forest and Alabama, Brown passed away. Our sympathies are with his friends and family during this trying time.
