Evan was moved to the Colorado Avalanche in July 2021, where he quickly established himself as a valuable center and winger.
He scored the decisive goal against the Tampa Bay Lightning in November 2021 in the 2021–2022 season.

On July 15, 2017, Evan Rodrigues wed Christina, whom he had met while attending Boston University. The sons of Evan and Christina are two young men named Grayson and Noah who both like playing hockey.
Rodrigues excelled for four seasons at Boston University, where he played college hockey from 2012 to 2016.
He signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Buffalo Sabres after graduating in 2016, where he made his NHL debut.
While playing for the Sabres, Rodrigues alternated between the NHL and the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Over the course of four seasons with the Sabres, he played in 154 NHL games, totaling 67 points with 26 goals and 41 assists.
He was moved to the Pittsburgh Penguins in February 2020, where he has since played as a versatile forward who can play both the center and the wing.
Rodrigues has scored several significant goals for the Penguins, including the game-winning goal in overtime during the playoffs of the 2020–21 season.
The athlete is currently a center and winger with the Colorado Avalanche after being moved to them in July 2021. Rodrigues’ offensive talent, two-way aptitude, and capacity to support both special teams are well-known.

Parents Evan and Christina Rodrigues have two small children. Their first child, Grayson, was born in Buffalo on October 28, 2018, when Evan was playing for the Buffalo Sabres.
A year later, when Evan was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, his family was compelled to move while taking care of their little boy.
In Salem, Massachusetts, on June 17, 2020, their second child, Noah, was born. This was the day before the NHL was shut down.
Evan was visiting his family often while residing in Pittsburgh at the time.
Despite the difficulties of being away from his wife and children during the NHL boom, Evan was glad to be back home.
His life has been drastically altered by being a father, and he appreciates seeing his boys develop into mature young men with distinct personalities.
Since his boys share his passion for the sport, having his family close by has aided his hockey career. Evan claims that he likes seeing his boys’ knowledge and communication skills develop on a daily basis.
As part of his pregame ritual, Evan frequently plays a game of miniature hockey with his sons in the family’s living room. The little arena was constructed out of a rug Christina purchased.
Evan is not startled to hear Grayson sing the national anthem and announce goals and penalties because both of his sons have played hockey.
