The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, was shot on Monday, killing six people, including three staff members and three students. School head, custodian, and substitute teacher were victims. A previous student of the same school, 28, killed everyone. Nine-year-olds Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney died.
Employees Cynthia Peak (61), Katherine Koonce (60), and Michael Hill (61), died. The police have not identified any victims as gunshot targets. All the victims were unknown to most of the public before the incident, but their untimely deaths have greatly affected the nation.

Third-grader Evelyn Dieckhaus died in a Monday shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. A senior preacher at Woodmont Christian Church, which the Dieckhaus family attended, spoke about Evelyn following the killing. The preacher said Evelyn’s two-year-old sister cried during the funeral, perhaps due to her grief.
Still missing her sister, she continued, “I don’t want to be an only child.” Like Evelyn, the other two nine-year-olds. Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney were also shot and killed. Two lawfully acquired AR-style guns and a pistol were carried by the killer. Police revealed their names at the time they were supposed to leave Covenant School for the day.

Katy’s daughter Evelyn. Her parents lamented Evelyn’s premature death. She leaves a family who will miss her for years. The parents of other youngsters likewise grieved their innocent children. The families of the other lost colleagues are likewise devastated.
A Covenant head of school called Katherine Koonce a “saint” with two children. The parent said Ms. Koonce knew her students by name and helped disadvantaged families. One of the shooting victims was Covenant School janitor Mike Hill.
Brittany Hill, his daughter, said on Facebook that her father died doing his hobby. She also expressed shock that she had been shot at school, something she had seen happen to others. Cynthia Peak, a substitute teacher at the school on the shooting day, was also killed. Hallie Scruggs is the daughter of Covenant Presbyterian Church senior pastor Chad Scruggs.
According to accounts, Ms. Koonce wrote on Covenant’s website that it was more than just a school. The Nashville Covenant School expressed tremendous grief after the terrible attack, noting it broke the whole community.
