Blake Lively portrayed Serena van der Woodsen in the critically acclaimed television series Gossip Girl, she became an international phenomenon. She has previously portrayed the lead character in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The Shallows, Age of Adaline, Green Lantern, and A Simple Favor all had Blake as the lead.
When Blake married actor Ryan Reynolds in 2012, she immediately became the envy of many. Blake’s parents, Ernie and Elaine, are largely responsible for her success as an actress. She spoke with W Magazine;
“My parents never hired babysitters because they were constantly acting teachers; instead, they would just accompany me to class. Additionally, the fact that I am naturally shy helped a lot. If I hadn’t been enrolled in their classes, I would have been yanking at my mother’s clothing and hiding beneath the table.

The parents of Ernie Lively are Beatrice Gray and Ernest W. Brown Sr. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He is most recognized for his roles in the films Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Passenger 57. In The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Ernie portrayed Blake Lively’s character’s father.
Ernie is well-known for the aforementioned roles, but he has also had several supporting roles in movies. The Million Dollar Dixie Deliverance, In the Mood, The Children of Times Square, The Secret Life of Kathy McCormick, and many more are just a few of the movies he has acted in. A talent manager who also appeared in Return to Zork, Elaine worked in the entertainment industry.
After Elaine terminated her first marriage, she married Ernie in 1979. Ernie adopted Elaine’s last name in place of his own. Blake and Eric Lively’s parents are Ernie and Elaine.

When Ernie Lively left the performing arts and relocated to Heber City to go skiing, his cardiac problems started. He had a heart attack in 2003, which prevented him from living the outdoor lifestyle he desired. Ernie stated, “I live here because of the outdoor life, and I couldn’t enjoy it,” according to The Salt Lake Tribune. I lacked the energy to accomplish much of anything.
After Amit Patel and his staff performed urgent heart surgery on Ernie, Ernie became one of Amit’s patients. Then, Amit persuaded Ernie to take part in a research study that utilized gene therapy to activate stem cells for cardiac repair.
Sadly, cardiac issues caused Ernie’s death in early June 2021, according to a statement he made to USA Today.
Blake later posted a picture of herself resting her head on her late father’s shoulder as an homage. Added to the Instagram Stories post was a brown heart.
Blake honored her father on Father’s Day by sharing a photo of him cuddling with Ryan Reynolds. She scribbled “My men” between two brown hearts.
