Where was Tatyana Ali born? Ethnicity, Nationality, Family

Tatyana was born to Sheriff and Sonia Ali on January 24, 1979. She calls her parents “down-to-earth individuals” who taught her how to treat herself and other people with respect. She did, however, mention to her Parents that Sheriff and Sonia had various parenting styles:

“I’m more relaxed than I anticipated. This is how my father treated my two sisters and me. He remarked, “If you teach them what they need to know, they’ll be prepared and sort things out,” but my mother was harsher.

Tatyana wants her children to have the same freedom to create their own identities

Tatyana wants her children to have the same freedom to create their own identities as her parents did. Tatyana’s father is a Muslim from Trinidad, while her mother is a Catholic from Panama. Sonia and Sheriff didn’t try to instill any particular religion in their kids.

They allowed them to pick their spiritual paths instead. Vaughn Rasberry is Tatyana’s husband, and they want their sons to have the same option. She told her Parents:

“I grew up believing that there are various paths to a relationship with God and that you could pick the one that was most effective for you… I’ll bring Edward to church when I want to. My sister’s spouse is Jewish, therefore it’s all right if she takes him to the temple. He should be as honest and self-determining as I was.
