Actress Florence Pugh disclosed that she and filmmaker Zach Braff had broken up during a cover story interview for Harper’s Bazaar’s September 2022 issue.

They decided to end their relationship “without the world knowing,” according to Pugh, to avoid drawing attention from the media. The Don’t Worry Darling actor claimed that whenever she discusses the split, she becomes upset:
“We simply thought that by doing something like this, we could avoid hearing from millions of individuals who would otherwise be happy to see us apart. That’s what we did, then. I experience a lump in my throat when I talk about it.
Although they apparently started dating in 2019, they have insisted on maintaining their relationship’s secrecy.
In 2018, Florence and Zach started corresponding on social media after the director praised Pugh’s portrayal of Lady Macbeth in the historical drama. Twitter user Braff wrote:
“Lady Macbeth, starring @Florence Pugh, was an astonishing movie that I can’t stop thinking about. Stunningly produced, acted, photographed, and so on. It’s extremely upsetting, so be forewarned. Famous actress Florence is.
In January 2019, Braff sparked dating rumors with Pugh. When he traveled to Oxford, England, where Pugh was born and raised, a lot of speculation started even though none of them at the time explicitly acknowledged their relationship.
The director posted pictures from his trip on his social media account as well. Florence and Zach first collaborated in March of that year, when the former acted in Braff’s short film In The Time It Takes To Get There.

Furthermore captured together at the Los Angeles Marriage Story premiere in November 2019 were Zach Braff and Florence Pugh. The two did not, however, go to Pugh’s Little Women premiere together.
