It has been announced that Ed Sheeran will remain the jersey sponsor of Ipswich Town FC for a third season. Since the beginning of the 2021/22 season, the Suffolk singer has been a sponsor of the shirts worn by the men’s and women’s first teams.
He exclaimed that he was “thrilled” to be extending the agreement with a club that held a significant amount of significance for him.
Sheeran was praised for “showing his passion and devotion to the club and the larger community” by the chief executive of the organization, Mark Ashton.
Following the beginning of Sheeran’s sponsorship, the club reported that it had achieved the biggest sales of its blue home shirts in the past 15 years.
The singer, who was born and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk, and who still has a property in the surrounding region, is a huge fan of the Tractor Boys and has been making frequent trips to Portman Road in recent years.
This year, Sheeran worked with the club to design a “blackout” third kit, which features multiple iterations of the logo that appears on the front cover of the musician’s Equals album.
More than 11,000 of the strip were purchased in a span of six weeks, making it the club’s all-time best-selling jersey in terms of sales velocity.
Ed Sheeran stated that he was happy to once again be the club’s sponsor.

I have stated on multiple occasions that the community and the football club are very important to me. I’m really looking forward to seeing Portman Road once more in the near future!
At the beginning of this month, Sheeran gave an impromptu performance in the middle of Ipswich town center and told the audience that he had “such affection for this place.”
