Despite having a vast age difference, Kim Fields and Alexis Fields have stayed very close throughout their lives. Kim Fields became a big sister to Alexis Fields in March 1979 when she was 12 years old.
They became friends not only because they have the same blood, but also because of their similar job paths. Older students may recognize Kim and her younger sister from some of the well-known comedies from the 1990s because they grew up in the spotlight.
At the age of five, Kim made her acting debut as a Sesame Street character. She gained notoriety in The Facts of Life for playing the snarky schoolgirl Tootie Ramsey.
Finally, Kim made the shift to adult roles with ease, portraying a self-assured young woman on Living Single with Queen Latifah.
At that point, Alexis had also entered the field. With parts in Roc, Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper, and Sister, Sister, she launched her acting career.
As part of her #BirthdayVibes Countdown in 2020 coming up to her birthday on May 12, Kim moderated several talks. She welcomed Alexis, and they talked about their past interactions and how much they admired one another.

The Sesame Street actress immediately exclaimed how wonderful Alexis was and how she was her hero for “gazillion reasons.”
She claimed that her sister was a fantastic actress who was killing it in her most recent project. Until Kim asked Alexis how it was being an elder sibling, the two kept things lighthearted and amusing.
Alexis revealed that she never took it seriously when Kim referred to her as a hero since she was unable to reciprocate. She continued by describing why Kim was so appreciative of her and how she set a good example for her.
“Throughout your childhood, there was never a time when I wasn’t in awe of you. When I tried to follow in your footsteps, I realized how some aspects of my life had paralleled those of yours. Even though I didn’t want to act, I did because I witnessed you do it, and it seemed secure because of how gracefully you handled it, remarked Alexis.
The Roc star continued by saying that because of the way her older sibling always conducted herself, it was simpler for her to succeed. Alexis struggled to recall when she didn’t aspire to be like Kim.

And Alexis praised the former for everything she had done for her and their family as an emotional Kim listened to each word.
“Thank you for setting a good example for me, mum, and you. I am thankful for your birth, I am thankful for the achievements in your life that you worked hard for, but I am also thankful for the private moments where we have cried and grown, the actress said.
Alexis continued by saying that Kim had frequently saved her life and guided her without her being aware of it.
Alexis then concluded her touching statement as Kim brushed away her emotions and said she had no idea her sibling felt in that way. The actress from Living Single praised her cherished sister for the kind remarks.
