For its ninth season, HGTV is bringing back the beloved mother-daughter combo from their long-running program, Good Bones. The two hosts of the program, Karen E. Laine and Mina Starsiak have already garnered attention for their use of lead paint in renovation projects even though the show’s premiere date has not yet been confirmed.

The mother-daughter combo also acknowledged their error and agreed to pay a $40,000 fine to the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Mina Stariak and Karen E. Laine are a mother-daughter duo. They were seen working on dilapidated structures in Indianapolis, where they were raised. They redesign, build, and renovate these old buildings all season long.

Both the mother and daughter of Good Bones have careers outside of home restoration.

58-year-old Karen E. Laine was a practicing attorney full-time. Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University is where she obtained her law degree. After graduating, she also worked as a defense lawyer.

In 1990, she joined Cohen & Malad as an associate attorney to begin her legal career. She later worked for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office as a deputy prosecutor. Later, she obtained assistance from the Jensen Law firm with guardian ad litem, mediation, and criminal defense. Laine does, however, currently work as a part-time attorney.

She has four children of her own as well. Mina, William, and CR are her three children from her first marriage. The fourth kid of Kelsy and her fourth child with Randy.

Daughter of Mina Starsiak Hawk, Mina is a mother, novelist, entrepreneur, and wife. After graduating from Indiana University, she was unsure of her career goals. She consequently started working as a waiter.

But when the 31-year-old bought a $37,500 old property, she asked her mum for help fixing it. She realized then that she had a natural aptitude for building homes.

They later established Two Chicks And A Hammer as their own business.

In June 2016, Mina wed Steve, whom she met on Facebook. The couple’s first kid, Jack Richard Hawk, was born in 2018, and their second child, Charlotte, will arrive in September 2020. Since Mina’s mother wants to be with her husband, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2019, in the upcoming musical, she will play a key role.
