Frontman Chito Miranda of Parokya ni Edgar revealed that guitarist Gab Chee Kee had a Lymphoma diagnosis in the latter half of last year when discussing his health.
According to Chito’s Facebook post, Gab will be unable to perform live with the band since he needs therapy.
Gab needs medical care, and he won’t be able to play until he’s fully recovered. Gab is the lifeblood of the group, thus without him, Parokya doesn’t sound the same, according to him. Chito claims that Gab has been undergoing chemotherapy for a few months.
The guitarist had asked them to continue without him, he added, even though the band had decided to stop playing live until Gab was cleared. According to Chito, Gab has been intubated for more than a week and has been transferred to the intensive care unit.
But is contemporary Filipino guitarist Gab Chee Kee ill? Health Report
The guitarist of the well-known Filipino band Parokya ni Edgar is brought to the hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Chito Miranda, the vocalist for the band Parokya ni Edgar, revealed on Wednesday that Gab Chee Kee, the guitarist, is battling lymphoma-induced pneumonia in the intensive care unit.
Gab was given a lymphoma diagnosis last year. Miranda claims that despite getting a diagnosis, Gab chose to play for Parokya. Kee ultimately stopped performing after the doctors advised him to unwind.
Despite Chito’s initial objection to continuing their gigs without Gab, the guitarist convinced them to go with their preparations. The performer further revealed that Gab was admitted to the intensive care unit because his condition had deteriorated.
The PNE singer used the opportunity to plead for donations from friends and followers to help fund Chee Kee’s increasing medical costs as the band prepares to organize benefit performances for its guitarist.
Information on Gab Chee Kee
Miranda said that the guitarist’s pneumonia and transfer to the intensive care unit (ICU), where he had been intubated for more than a week, were the results of Chee Kee’s cancer complications.
He went on to say that although Chee Kee was “financially prepared” for the treatment, the guitarist’s family needed help paying the “huge” hospital bills. Miranda claims that his bandmate was initially reluctant to ask for assistance, but was eventually encouraged to do so by his loved ones, friends, and musicians so that he wouldn’t “deny the people who cared for him, the opportunity to help him out.”
Although he had initially asked that they not perform while Chee Kee was recovering, the Parokya ni Edgar vocalist said that the guitarist had encouraged them to continue.
Gab, a founding member of the band, wrote and performed “Your Song,” also known as “One and Only You,” one of Parokya ni Edgar’s most well-known songs.
