For eleven years, she was shunned due to her inability to conceive a male heir, which changed when “Baby G,” her “miracle child,” arrived in 2018.

Gabriel and Christine Chiu Discuss Their Son, Surrogacy, and Fertility Concerns
Between running a multibillion-dollar business and traveling the world, Gabriel and Christine encountered some genuine difficulties that even their enormous wealth could not overcome.
The Asian-American couple discussed their fertility struggles, difficult pregnancy, and plans for a second child.
Gabriel and his wife are meeting with their doctor to discuss having another child when the doctor suggests that the only viable option is surrogacy. They welcomed their son Gabriel Christian Chiu III on June 29th, 2018. (named after Gabriel and his father, Gabriel Chiu I).
Christine has been made aware by both Gabriel and their doctor that becoming pregnant again is not an option. However, this did not alleviate her concerns about surrogacy. Regarding it, she stated,
“To be honest, I’ve never considered surrogacy. I’ve always had the impression that Asians look down on or avoid surrogacy.”
Christine stated that she was adamantly opposed to doing anything or making any decisions that would offend her husband’s parents or bring shame to the Chiu family. Additionally, she appeared to be certain that their in-laws would oppose them having a surrogate baby. She actually stated that her “very traditional” family would “despise” the idea.
For the time being, their son “Baby G” is the literal apple of their eyes. For their son’s first birthday, the couple donated $1 million to a cause that provides free museum admission to children from underserved communities. And this was no ordinary birthday celebration, complete with a custom-built roller coaster, Ferris wheel, a plethora of Gucci gifts, entertainers, an arcade, live musical performances, and a ten-course catering menu.
