Claudia hired a hitman for $10,000 with the help of her brother, Manuel Haro.

Garrett Warren’s image and a map of his house were handed to the hitman. Garrett had a knock on the door in May 2000. When Warren answered the door, the man asked whether it was his car in the driveway. Garrett described the incident as follows:

‘Yeah, that’s my car,’ I said. So I opened the door and looked out the window to see if my car had been hit. “And when I did, he had a gun on his right side by his right leg, which he took up and began shooting at me.”

Garrett was shot four times in the chest, neck, and left hip with a point 32 ACP. Again, while he was lying down, the man shot him in the right eye, blinding him. Warren’s mother heard the bullets and rushed to see what was going on; the hitman fired two shots at her, nearly hitting her in the head.

Claudia was later caught in 2005 on attempted murder and main firearm charges in connection with the attempted murder of Garrett Warren and sentenced to 12 years and four months in prison at the California Institution for Women in Corona, California.
