Although Gary is a very proud husband who constantly speaks about his wife and her support for him, keeping his children out of the spotlight is one thing. On September 24, 2014, he wrote a full blog post titled “The Importance of Your Significant Other” on Medium in honor of Lizzie. He wrote on his blog that his wife’s impact on his career astounded him.

On May 31, 2009, Misha, their first child, was born. The couple had their second child, a boy called Xander, on August 6, 2012, bringing their total number of children to three. Currently, the four-person family resides in New York.
