In 1955, Gilbert Gottfried was created in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 15, he began performing stand-up, and in 1980, he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live. He rose to stardom through a series of iconic MTV promos, and over the years, he acted in several movies, including The Aristocrats and Beverly Hills Cop II (1987). (2005).

Gottfried also frequently appeared on Late Night With David Letterman, Hollywood Squares, The Howard Stern Show, and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. By this point, he had made his shrieking and squinting his trademark.

Gottfried’s star power increased starting in the late 1980s as a result of a string of lesser parts in numerous films.
