Gisele Bundchen described her separation from NFL quarterback Tom Brady as “the end of my dream.” The Brazilian supermodel and American football player divorced in October after 13 years of marriage.
She told Vanity Fair magazine,
“It’s difficult because you imagine your life to be a certain way, and you done everything you could.”
Gisele Bundchen also refuted rumors about the reason for the divorce.
She highlighted rumors that the breakup occurred after Brady returned to the NFL despite proclaiming his retirement as “very devastating” and “the weirdest thing she had ever heard.”
“What has been said is only a small part of a much larger mystery. It’s not that simple,” she told Vanity Fair.
“I have always supported him, and I would continue to do so forever. Believe me, he is the person I want to be the happiest in the entire world. I hope that all of his dreams come true.”
In his 23-year career, Brady won a record seven Super Bowls and announced last month that he was retiring “for good.”
Brady, 45, and Bundchen, 42, began dating in 2006 and wed at the beginning of 2009. In addition to their two children together, Brady has a son with his ex-partner, actress Bridget Moynahan.
Bundchen also described how they had drifted away as a pair over time, beginning before Brady reversed his retirement decision to play one more season of football in 2017.
She stated,
“Sometimes you grow together, and sometimes you grow apart.”
“We met when I was 26 years old and he was 29 years old; we desired a family and shared goals.
“As time passes, we realize that we just desired various things, and now we must make a decision. That does not imply you do not love the individual.”
Since 2001, Bundchen has become one of the world’s highest-paid models. She said that she has “no regrets” about her life with Brady.
In October 2022, upon announcing the separation, Brady stated that the decision was “tough and challenging.”
He stated,
“But, we simply wish each other the best as we embark on the next chapters of our lives.”
