On April 17, 2009, while still with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks, he signed a $3.5 million contract with the New York Officers. In the years since, his career has taken off, with contracts with the Tampa Sound Lightning in 2011, the Connecticut Whale in 2012, and the Officers in 2013.
