Meet the judges’ panel

Robert Hodge

The owner of the upcoming judge on The CW program is Temper Chocolate & Pasty in Vancouver. His mother’s influence led him to start baking when he was a young child, but it was while he was a student at the California School of Culinary Arts that he started working professionally in a kitchen.

Another chef informed him about the difficulties of being a pastry chef while he was there, but this just strengthened his will to succeed. Before relocating to Vancouver to work as an executive chef for the Glowbal Group, the Great Chocolate Showdown judge held positions at Wolfgang Puck Catering and Porto’s bakery.

John Olson

The Food Network Canada celebrity has previously appeared on Bake with Anna Olson, Anna’s Occasions, Fresh with Anna Olson, Inspired with Anna Olson, and other Food Network Canada series. Since joining the panel in 2020, the Great Chocolate Showdown judge has amassed over 1.4 million YouTube subscribers. Cookbooks written by the chef include Baking Day, which took home a Gold Medal at the Taste Canada Cookbook Awards.

Cindy Stroud

She was nurtured by her grandparents until she was ten years old after being born in Nigeria. When she was eight years old, she baked her first cake. She claims on her website:

I was frightened to leave my new boy when I went on maternity leave in 2009, so I started baking full-time. The objective at the time was to produce one wedding cake per month.

Grandpa had a big impact on Cynthia’s life because he was an attorney and frequently represented people who couldn’t afford to pay him. His clients were prepared to accept any payment they could get. The CW will debut the fourth season of Great Chocolate Showdown on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.
