The actress explained her choice in an interview with the LA Times.
“I double-checked to make sure it wasn’t inappropriate, and I was informed that it wasn’t. People constantly subordinate themselves. As a testimony to the persona and what I believe she stands for, I had to do it, said Christie.

The actress loves to wear Deacon’s creations and is highly supportive of her boyfriend, even though he enjoys making things for Christie.
She claimed to be wearing Deacon’s dress from the Spring/Summer 2016 collection when she spoke about him to InStyle in 2015; the collection was going to be displayed at London Fashion Week.
“I genuinely think he’s a talented artist. One of my favorite designers, he possesses a stunning visual vision and a well developed sense of discipline. I believe it should be acknowledged since that kind of artist is uncommon, she continued.
The two collaborate frequently. For instance, Deacon created two gowns for Christie when she played Titania and Hippolyta in a new production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at London’s Bridge Theater.
According to her statement to Vogue, “having her strength and Giles’s strength” enabled her to occupy the space and tell the tale.
