Denny Ross subjected her to a horrible encounter in which she was subjected to vicious beatings, rape, and strangled. But because of a mistrial, Hannah’s family would have to wait thirteen excruciating years for justice.
Hannah’s family also thought she was at a friend’s house the night she didn’t come home, but worries mounted when her supervisor asked about her absence. Friends joined the search, and a report of a missing person was made, including a description of her automobile. However, at first, the police did nothing as they thought it was just another normal adolescent disappearance.
Tragically, Hannah’s abandoned vehicle led to the discovery of her dead body in the trunk a week later. She was discovered naked from the waist down, with her legs exposed, which further demonstrated the horrific nature of the act. She had also left her pager and keys in the vehicle.
Hannah Hill Murderer Denny Ross Sentenced For 19 Years Of Life
Denny Ross was found guilty in June 1999 of the horrible crimes of viciously attacking, raping, and eventually strangling Hannah Hill. This caused a horrifying tragedy to play out. The Prosecution presented the Jury with overwhelming evidence throughout the emotionally heated trial. This included finding components that matched those in Ross’ cast as well as sulfur and carbon residues in Hannah’s facial wounds.
In response, the Defense vehemently argued that key aspects of the case were made up, focusing in particular on the alleged placement of the rubbish bag containing Hannah’s personal items. They asserted that Ross lacked a reason for carrying out such a horrible deed as well, citing Hannah’s violent relationship with Brad and the scratches on his arm as possible points of inquiry.
But when the court declared a mistrial because of jury misbehavior, the trial took an unexpected turn and became more complicated. The court then rejected the request for a retrial in 2002, noting the first jury’s finding of not guilty and raising the controversial double jeopardy issue. Denny Ross was finally sentenced to 19 years in jail for life, which served as the verdict in this terrible and deeply unpleasant case.

Because she had attended several of Ross’s home parties and because her ex-boyfriend Brad O’Born had temporarily lived with him, Hannah and Ross were acquainted. Due to being discovered selling narcotics to undercover police officers and being sentenced to probation, Ross has a past criminal history involving drug charges.
