Tyrone and Anita (née Williams) Howard were the paternal grandparents of Howard. They were both mixed-race. They were of Anglo-African descent. Actress Minnie Gentry, her great-great-grandmother, gained recognition for her roles in movies such as Black Caesar (1990), Def By Temptation (1990), and Georgia Georgia (1972).

In April 2019, Terrence’s second child posted a photo of herself curled up on the lap of an unidentified man, who appeared to be Italian, on social media.
The fact that Heaven herself wrote the caption for the image, “A “pair,” is what merits special attention.
Heaven didn’t say what she was truly attempting to say, even though comments on the post itself labeled the image of Gio and Howard as a “couple” and included a red heart emoji.
