Hector Bonilla Passed Away At The Age Of 83

Hector Bonilla

On November 25, an 83-year-old veteran actor named Hector Bonilla died of natural causes in Mexico City, Mexico. Fernando Bonilla, his son, confirmed his father’s death on social media by writing a moving eulogy.

“I genuinely want to talk about my father and continue to talk about him.” But I believe the best description of my employer I’ve ever read was written in 1993 for The Process, in a review of the play The Foreigner, by Victor Hugo Rascón Banda. I’d like to show you these. “Bonilla is a popular and well-liked performer among university students, intellectuals, bankers, housewives, and laborers,” said my father.

He continued, saying:

“It is a remarkable example of ubiquity; Announces Bacardi, performs in the soap opera Trapada, directs The Foreign, models clothing in the magazine Varón Mexico, stars in the film Snakes and Stairs, and oversees a critical cultural project with the regent.” And everything is happening at the same time.”

Although neither Hector Bonilla’s son nor any other representative disclosed the cause of death, many media outlets reported that the legendary Mexican actor died of kidney cancer. Following the announcement of Bonilla’s death, condolences poured in, with the Mexican government’s Secretary of Culture tweeting about it.

Fans of Hector Bonilla’s work can pay their respects on Monday, November 28, at 5:00 p.m. (CST) in Mexico City’s Palacio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts). The following is an English translation of a tweet sent by Mexico’s Culture Secretary:

“The people of Mexico will be able to pay their respects to the great Héctor Bonilla, whom they adored, on Monday, November 28 at 5:00 p.m.”

The Culture Secretariat praised the veteran actor, calling him “one of Mexico’s finest performers.” The original tweet, as well as its English translation, can be found here:

“The Ministry of Culture mourns the death of actor Héctor Bonilla, an INBAL School of Theater Arts graduate and widely regarded as one of Mexico’s greatest performers.” He appeared in films such as Rojo Amanecer and worked in theater, television, and film.
