PM Modi came in Gujarat this morning and performed the burial rituals.PM Modi may attend the ceremonies through video conference despite the fact that he was expected to unveil development projects in West Bengal. Heeraben Modi shared a home with PM Modi’s younger brother Pankaj in Raysan village, near Gandhinagar. The Prime Minister would visit Raysan and spend time with his mother on most of his travels to Gujarat.

Heeraben Modi, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, died at the age of 99.Mr. Modi tweeted on Friday morning saying God is the wellspring of a magnificent century. Heeraben, who resided in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, ignited his mother’s funeral pyre on Friday.
Heeraben’s condition had deteriorated, and she had been admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. When there were important events or celebrations, the Indian prime minister would regularly visit his mother to seek her blessing.
They were last seen together in public when Mr. Modi visited her house on December 4 during the assembly election in Gujarat, his home state.Heeraben lived with Mr. Modi’s younger brother’s household. Several lawmakers and ministers expressed their condolences for Heeraban’s death on social media. The defense minister, Rajnath Singh, said that the news had given him tremendous anguish.

On December 28, Heeraben, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, was admitted to the UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad. The prime minister had seen her at the hospital, where her health had been reported to be stable.

Where Did Heeraben Modi Come From?
Heeraben was born in Visnagar, Gujarat’s Mehsana district, in 1923.Mr. Modi explained that she had a difficult upbringing. When Heeraben was a teenager, she married Damodardas Mulchand Modi and moved to the neighbouring town of Vadnagar. Mr. Modi noted in his blog how his family lived in a tiny house with no windows and few comforts such as a toilet or bathtub.
He described his mother as punctual, tidy, and hardworking. He described her as humming her favorite hymns and bhajans.Mr. Modi said in his letter that Heeraben had never attended a public event, and that she had only accompanied him on two occasions, the second being his swearing-in ceremony as Gujarat’s chief minister in 2001.
