On October 6, 1964, Heidi Berry was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the oldest child of an African-American father, Jerome Jesse Berry, and a white English immigrant mother, Judith Ann Hawkins. Halle Berry, her younger sister, is the mother of two children, one of whom is a son named Maceo Robert Martinez.
The mother of Heidi was born to Nellie Dicken and Earl Ellsworth Hawkins in Sawley, Derbyshire, England. She earned her nursing degree from the MB School of Nursing, and she is currently a retired psychiatric nurse.
Her father, Jerome Jesse Berry, was born in 1934 into a family that was 50/50 black and white. In the same psychiatric facility where his wife Judith was also employed, he began working there as a porter. Later, both of the coworkers got married after falling in love.
Why Did Heidi Berry’s Parents Divorce?
Prior to getting married, Heidi’s parents had a close relationship. According to some sources, Judith was expecting Heidi, which is why the pair reportedly got married quickly. Even Judith’s parents disowned her since she wed a black man.
