Her mother Heidi gave birth to her without the presence of her biological father after her parents divorced before she was born.
On May 4, 2004, Helene was born in New York City. When her daughter Leni was born, her mother was with her then-boyfriend, the renowned British artist Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel, also known as Seal. But when Helene’s kid was born, her biological father wasn’t present.
After starting dating in March 2003, Klum and her ex-boyfriend Flavio called it quits shortly after the model revealed her first pregnancy in December of that same year. Indeed, Helene is adopted by Seal, the second husband of her mother. The couple’s romantic relationship started when Klum split up with her ex-boyfriend Flavio.
Before getting engaged on a glacier in Whistler, British Columbia in December 2004, the couple dated for several months. Speaking of weddings, Heidi and Seal spoke their vows on May 10, 2005, so that day didn’t take too long. The couple planned their Mexican beach wedding.

“A child needs to grow up in a family, so even though Leni is my biological daughter, the three of us happily agreed that it made more sense if Seal adopted her.”
In the same interview, he discussed his relationships with Seal and Heidi as well.
“Seal, Heidi, and I have developed a wonderful bond.”
The businessman went on to say,
It’s difficult to miss a baby you never get to see. However, I am aware that Leni is not a mistreated child.
Speaking more about his connection with his daughter Lene, 70-year-old Flavio said that although they spoke on the phone for two hours every day, “it wasn’t enough.” She had to remain with her mother.
What’s the True Name of Her?
On the internet, there is a lot of misunderstanding over her true name. According to several accounts, Heidi’s daughter was born with the last name Helen Klum, but according to other accounts, when Seal formally adopted her in 2009, her last name changed to Samuel.
In an interview with Vogue in December 2020, model Heidi, however, ended any rumors about her daughter’s true identity. She revealed that Leni Olumi Klum, not Helene Boshoven Samuel, is her name.
In April 2012, Klum filed for divorce from Seal, and in October 2015, their divorce was finalized. However, Leni and her adoptive father continue to have a strong relationship even after their split.
Heidi herself has said, rather sympathetically, that Seal, not Flavio, is her father.
