On October 13, 1923, Henryk Orenstein was born to a Jewish family in Hrubieszów, Poland. He was taken from his village to Nazi concentration camps while being reared as a Jew, and he survived five of them.
After the war, he traveled to America. When the German army seized Hrubieszów in September 1939, Orenstein, his three brothers, and their father fled to Olyka. After spending two years in Olyka, the Orenstein family moved back to Hrubieszów to live with their mother and sister.

How did Henry Orenstein start his Professional Career?
Orenstein launched Topper Toys, which produced well-known toys including the Johnny Lightning model car series and the “Suzy Cute” line of miniature dolls. After spotting a wedding doll priced at $29.95 in a department shop window display, he was motivated to launch the business.
After having success with his first dolls, Orenstein made his first million dollars. The Transformers toy and a gadget for showing hole cards in poker games are both inventions attributed to Orenstein.
He is credited as “the trigger” for the existence of Transformers by former Hasbro CEO Alan Hassenfeld. Additionally, he persuaded Hasbro to buy these strange-looking Diaclone and Micro Change toys and rebrand them as Transformers. One of the many inventions that inspired the development of Transformers is U.S. Patent 5,451,054.
The Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament on FSN is produced by Orenstein, who also invented it. In addition, he was the creator of the well-known TV program High Stakes Poker, which aired from 2006 to 2007 and then again from 2009 to 2011. Old episodes of the program may still be seen on GSN in the United States.
2009 saw more than $200,000 in live poker tournament winnings for Orenstein. In 2008, he was admitted into the Poker Hall of Fame. Orenstein was additionally admitted into the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame.
