On Saturday, November 20, the home of Ansu Fati was reportedly broken into and robbed during Barcelona’s match versus Espanyol.
Fati was a spectator at Camp Nou for Xavi Hernandez’s debut as manager of Barcelona. Memphis Depay’s penalty kick helped the Catalans upset their cross-city rivals 1-0 in front of more than 70,000 spectators.
According to La Vanguardia, a bunch of burglars stole into Ansu Fati’s home in Sant Cugat, a city near Barcelona, during the match (via Mirror).
While some of Fati’s family was downstairs, they allegedly broke in. The police were contacted for assistance, but when they arrived, no one was present.
Barcelona’s 1-0 victory over Espanyol greeted the team and its fans with both exhilaration and relief. Nonetheless, Xavi’s team had various issues, the most significant of which was their inability to end the game earlier.
Money, watches, and jewelry were reportedly stolen from Fati, although no members of his family were wounded.
